Overview

Apache Cassandra is a free and open-source, distributed, wide-column store, NoSQL database management system designed to handle large amounts of data across many commodity servers, providing high availability with no single point of failure. A Database Administrator, or Database Manager, is responsible for managing computer systems that store and organise data for companies. Their duties include creating and maintaining a relationship with customers, securing data and identifying areas for improvement with the infrastructure.
